How To Import Video Into Premiere Pro

I go through every option that is available for importing your footage into Adobe Premiere Pro CC, from various import options within the program to easy drag and drop methods. As you might know, an editing program does you absolutely no good if you can’t get your footage into the software so that you can edit it.

Although this is very basic for the more advanced users of Adobe Premiere Pro CC it is still very important to understand all the different ways you can import your footage into your project.

I have found that there are a number of different ways that you can import files into Premiere Pro but how you choose to do so really depends on the workflow you have in place. So let’s break down the methods you can do this.

File Import

This method has options that go with it. You can choose Import from the file menu, double click the bin panel, or even right-click the bin panel and select import.

Media Browser Import

This is the import option that was introduced in versions back. I believe it was created with a way to access files that were within other Premiere Pro projects and is a way to browse the projects without opening them.

Here is a way to import media using the Media Browser.

Finder/Explorer Level (Drag and Drop)

This is probably the easiest way to import footage into Premiere Pro. It is as simple as finding your files on the Finder/Explorer level and drag and dropping into the program.
